If you could choose to have one magic power from the Fantastic Beasts universe, what would it be?
Becoming invisible would be great, kind of like a magical French exit but with more flair.
What role has been your most fun role to play so far?
Playing Marie Louise in Harlots was so fun. We had a brilliant team of writers whose witty and clever dialogue was a total blast to work on. They created an important story on the plight of sex workers in London during the Georgian era whilst also making us cry with laughter. It’s a rare thing and it was a real privilege to be a part of that show.
What is something in your career that you really want to do?
French cinema. I’ve played French roles in UK and US productions many times now, putting on the French accent and at times saying a sentence or two in the French language. To take part in a fully French production would be a dream.
What is your vice?
What is a characteristic / trait that unites all people, regardless of where and who they are?
Anything involving music.
Do you follow fashion trends?
I like to keep an eye on trends because fashion can be such a creative place but personally my style has remained mostly unchanged in years. I’ve been dressing like I’m attending my own funeral since a/w 2005.
What helps you when you’re having a bad day?
Checking out Love of Huns’ instagram.
Do you usually prefer to stay in or go out on a Friday night?
I usually stay in on a Friday night and end up watching forgotten episodes of Top of the Pops 2.
Is there something that people always get wrong about you (professionally or privately)?
The pronunciation of my name catches most people out. When I lived in France it was Poppy that was the problem, since I’ve lived in the UK it’s Corby-Tuech that’s the issue. It’s pronounced ‘Corbee-Too-esh’.
What makes a good friendship?
Who was your role model growing up?
What makes you take on a role?
It’s the creative team involved behind the role that I’m often drawn to.
Do you consider yourself a patient person?
I do, I’m always interested in the long game.
How do you deal with pressure?
Like Coach Taylor says; ‘Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose’.
What is the most worn item of clothing in your wardrobe?
At this point it’s undeniably my track- suit.
What is a recent addition to your life that you love?
Orville Peck’s new album Bronco: Chapters 1&2. He has the swagger of a cowboy and the voice of an angel.
